Morocco hands over the body of a migrant to Algeria
Last week, Moroccan authorities handed over to Algerian authorities the body of Ishak Jaaja, a 26-year-old Algerian migrant who drowned attempting to swim to occupied Ceuta. This came just days after his body was found.

Yesterday, Ishak was buried after the noon prayer in Al-Ashiakh cemetery in M'Sila province of Algeria, his hometown, according to his brother's Facebook post, who previously declared his death on March 7.

This incident led Moroccans to compare, on their social media accounts, how the Moroccan government handled this body and how the Algerian government handled the bodies of other Moroccans. These included the body of footballer Abdellatif Akhrif, which was retained in an Algerian morgue for five months, and another that is still retained to date.

The Moroccan Association of Assistance to Immigrants in Unseemly Situations has insisted several times on the repatriation of the corpses of six Moroccans to Algerian authorities. Some of them are two girls who were from the Province of the East. Their families have been expecting their release and acceptance, as in the case of the other corpses for which the association had already performed judicial, administrative, and technical procedures.
